LEADWOOD CAMP & NATURE RESERVE
The Leadwood Nature Reserve is located within a 13,000-hectare private game reserve, directly neighboring Mbonde. Situated at the foot of the Waterberg Plateau, this area is a true natural paradise, home to a wide variety of game species, including several antelope species, two types of zebras, impressive warthog boars, and both white and black rhinos.
The diverse terrain, featuring open plains, rocky hills, and classic bush savannah, provides a rich habitat for numerous wildlife species. Ondjou Safaris holds exclusive hunting rights here as well. With no hunting conducted for over a decade, the area now boasts an impressive population of mature, trophy-quality game.
Hunting at Leadwood
In the Leadwood Nature Reserve, hunting is primarily done through spot-and-stalk and tracking. For a change from hunting on foot, there are well-placed blinds and stands, especially useful for warthog hunting.

Hunting at Leadwood – please take note:
- In the heart of Namibia, you'll encounter a rugged, wild landscape.
- Hunting here requires a certain level of physical fitness!
- A hunting safari in these areas is about the experience of the hunt, not about collecting a large number of species in a short time.
